I trust your plans for the Holiday weekend are coming together CGMF Family & Friends. It will be like no other Memorial Weekend you have had I believe, however it gives you a great deal of opportunity for introspection. Our nation and our world have great challenges ahead. No certain course is ahead for us all. Nevertheless, if we allow the Holy Spirit to look into our hearts and lives. Our Lord can give us some insight into our personal needs, or remove from us those things that are causing us the greatest discomfort in our lives. Giving God the chance to dress the wounds that are hidden deep within. He can also do the same with our nation or the world we live in, but we must allow the Holy Spirit's probe to find the problem, and we must be willing to accept the solution to our dilemma as well. Howbeit, painful, or as non traditional as it might be. In these times of distress upon loved ones, friends, ministers and churches. I believe God is revealing in us things that are hidden and wanting to send His Holy Spirit to work within us all. Giving Him the opportunity to attend to the real needs we have, and find the solutions for those battle wounds of life, that have been inflicted us in a variety of ways in our lives. Search out the wisdom and input of His Spirit this weekend. Let this weekend become a memorial where you built your altar of prayer. Then see how God might work in your life in a profound way. Laying yourself, the nation and this world on that altar of prayer. Trusting the Great Physician to attend to the needs that are present, and resolving the issues most necessary to be addressed in our lives and this world. Be blest and safe. Two Neighborhood Groups have began to explore a study on a very current event. That is the " Coronavirus and Christ. " Its based off a study book by John Piper. Dr. Patrick Vossen our Founding Pastor and Ministry Bible Teacher Jeff Hughes have begun to embark on this journey of study in Omaha and Lincoln respectively. Reverend Vossen is considering putting it in audio form, but that has not been formally discussed yet. We are making the workbook available to all on the website. ![]()
We were unable because of technical issues to post Reverend Vossen's Easter Message yesterday for all to hear. However, we have it available now and trust that you will be touched by this eternal message of hope.
Good Friday Message: " At The Foot Of The Cross, Reputation And Tradition Will Not Save You. "4/10/2020 We have confirmed a second visit to the ER for Pastor Vossen, with the same or other symptoms as previous. A team of doctors worked to find the answer to his predicament, and it was determined that Pastor will have a visit at Dr. Feloney's at CHI for further exams to find a permanent solution to the problems at hand. That is the status as of now. Pastor is getting up and about, is trying to keep a somewhat consistent schedule, and has no pain. Please continue to have him in your prayers.
We hope this alienates many of your fears, as our office has received numerous phone calls concerning his health status. Pastor Vossen has had some time in his office, but has not been answering all correspondence. If this has led to any confusion we do apologize. Jan Welch Assistant Spiritual Coordinator CGMF Covenant Minutes has returned! Reverend Vossen started awhile ago recording a series of lessons, and others and we will begin to post them on the website after editing is finished.
Here is the first in the series for the year on " Building A Strong Faith ". I want to put to rest any fears about Reverend Vossen. There seems to be a lot of rumors of his ill health or sickness, and much of it is out of order.
Reverend Vossen did go to the ER Monday with severe pain, as he was not able to clear his bladder, etc... After his arrival the nurse and doctor present assessed that he had to have his bladder cleared, then they would have tests to see if his kidney or bladder had been damaged ( as pastor had almost waited too long to go to the emergency room ). Thankfully they took care of him and the tests came back negative. He does have to be out of work, and will not be unavailable for ministry for two weeks. He has some devices he will have to use to help him with his bladder. Other tests might be necessary later I am told. Keep him in your prayers as he recovers. He is quite limited in his functionality right now, and we trust he will be himself in the days to come. Be safe during these challenging times that are upon us saints of God. Pray one for another, Amen. In His Name, Derek Smith Shepherd Neighborhood Leader Northwest Omaha 8 The Lord is his people’s strength;
he is a fortress of protection for his anointed one. 9 Save your people, God! Bless your possession! Shepherd them and carry them for all time! Psalm 28:8,9 I am trusting God to put a fortress of protection around His anointed ones in this hour. I know there are troubling signs around about us, and fear considering so many unstable things in life. As sickness and other maladies seem rampant upon the earth. However, the Lord's steadfast love is sure, and I am praying His hedge of protection about you, and that if there is any sickness that has befallen you, that the Lord will lift you up with His right hand of power. Giving you strength and great joy. Grace to all the CGMF Family. I Want To See His Glory.
February 23rd, 2020 Exodus 24:15-18 15 Then Moses went up the mountain, and the cloud covered the mountain. 16 The Lord’s glorious presence settled on Mount Sinai, and the cloud covered it for six days. On the seventh day the Lord called to Moses from the cloud. 17 To the Israelites, the Lord’s glorious presence looked like a blazing fire on top of the mountain. 18 Moses entered the cloud and went up the mountain. Moses stayed on the mountain for forty days and forty nights. After much prayer and contemplation at our Annual Business and Prayer Meeting. Pastor Vossen and the Shepherd Leaders were directed by the Holy Spirit to consider our theme for the year as, " Beholding His Glory In The Midst Of The Church. " In our gathering together we truly felt led that this was the Lord's desire for us at this time, and that we needed to abide in the presence of God and truly devote ourselves to prayer one for another. It is going to be a year of intercession and pressing to reach the mountaintop to behold the Glory of God in a special way. We trust you will make that journey with us in 2020. Will be giving more details of our gathering and goals for 2020 in the days to come. Jan Welch |
