We are receiving some nice input from many folks concerning the prayerline messages. Our ministry will continue to have this service as long as there is interest. Keep Dr. Vossen in prayer as he continues to work to make this available to us.
To listen in call the CGMF Prayerline at 712-432-8399 and use the Conference number 584684. Then hold to be placed in conference and the message will play. Our message today is on " What Is Your Opinion On Jesus " by Reverend Vossen for November 10, 2017.

CGMF Special Note
November 6th, 2017 Due to the terrible developments that took place in Texas, and to the ongoing horror of mass shootings in the past few months. My heart has been troubled, with great grief in my soul. For I can't believe as a nation, that we cannot change course and direct our efforts toward removing this extreme violence. Somewhere within the tenacity of the spirit of this nation is the will to change. To even recognize that our sense of privilege of gun ownership has gone amok, and we have gone well beyond where our forefathers would have imagined. It is in that spirit I share this message of healing and hope for we as believers from the BBC today. The message I want to share today is from the daily service on the BBC for Nov. 6th, 2017. It calmed my heart and soul after the devastating carnage that has been witnessed at that small Baptist Church in Texas. Let us keep this church and our nation in our prayers, and determine in our hearts to see relevant changes in the future for the benefit of all. BBC Daily Service-The Gospel of Peace Founding Pastor, Dr. Patrick Vossen We were hoping to use these for prep, but they will work fine for our review and discussing the series in our 5 Shepherd Groups using this curriculum in their studies. We pray you are enjoying the series. It has been a series we have had since our infancy as a fellowship. This is the third time through this series for some of you. It has been a course Pastor Vossen had us cut our teeth on early in the Ministry. Lesson 2 This lesson can be broken up into three ideas which have, at their cores, a common theme. The first section (Luke:1-22) concerns the ministry of John the Baptist. He is preaching the “baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins” along with exhortations for reformed conduct to various groups. Among the people that came to John was Jesus. Keep that in point in mind. The next section is the genealogy of Jesus, Luke3:23-38. There are two in the New Testament, one in Matthew, chapter 1, and the other here. Note the difference in the ancestor beginning each of the lists. The third is the temptation of Jesus in the wilderness, Luke 4:1-13. Consider these three points illustrated in these sections.
Lesson 3 In this lesson, we see Jesus beginning His ministry. He starts in His home town, Nazareth, by attending the synagogue there. The quotation that he uses is a mixed citation from Isaiah 61:1-2 and 58:6 using the Septuagint version. Note how in the following verses we see that prophesy in action. “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, for he has anointed me.“ (See Luke 3L21-22) “He has commissioned me to announce good news to the poor,” (see Jesus calling the disciples Luke 5:1-11; 5:27-29; proclaiming the His mission Luke 5:31-39) “to proclaim release to captives and recovery of sight to the blind; to send off the oppressed with liberty, to proclaim an acceptable year of the Lord.” (Note that illness and possession were viewed as forms of captivity due to sin. Note the healings and especially the exorcisms that take place in these verses.) Why did the people of Nazareth become so angry with Jesus’s statement in Luke 4:24-30? Refer to the two incidents mentioned: I Kings 17:1-16; 2 Kings 5:1-14. How does this relate to the foundation of the Christian church? Covenant Minutes Message for September 7th, 2017
We are starting up the CGMF Prayerline daily message program again. After many times going back and forth on the idea. The Shepherd Leaders will be working with Reverend Vossen to post a daily short message of inspiration to the the Body. We will monitor how many call in and make sure this ministry has the support of our community in a positive way. It is our prayer that you will be ministered to by the Lord and encouraged daily in your walk of faith.
To listen in call the CGMF Prayerline at 712-432-8399 and use the Conference number 584684. Then hold to be placed in conference and the message will play. Our first message is on " Authentic Repentance " by Reverend Vossen for September 7, 2017. This first unit covers the predictions and births of John the Baptist and Jesus with an added account This first unit covers the predictions and births of John the Baptist and Jesus with an added account incident in Jesus’ youth. There are some interesting things to ponder before we go further. Each of the Gospels present us with a “portrait” of Jesus from a different point of view. So it is good to compare common material and references between the Gospels. In all the Gospels, John the Baptist is present at the beginning of Jesus’s ministry. However, Luke takes care to relate the announcement and birth of John. He also establishes the familial relationship of Jesus and John, (i.e.: Mary and Elizabeth are cousins). Can you see the similarities between the two narratives?
How can Mary and her reply to the angel related to us and our walk? Note: Her surrender to God’s will knowing full well the dangers involved. How did Elizabeth greet Mary when she can to visit? (Luke 1:42-45) Mary’s answering prayer mirrored the prayer of another mother. (Samuel 2:1-10) NOTE: John was just six months older that Jesus. NOTE: The birth of Jesus occurred in the spring or early summer. The fact that the shepherds were in the fields with their flocks indicated that the weather was moderate. In winter, shepherds herd their sheep into pens or caves so that they might benefit from group body warmth. Also, with the sheep out in the fields, Mary need not fear that animals would be trying to feed when she laid Jesus in the manger (i.e. their feeding trough). What did the angels announce to the shepherds? (Luke 2;10-12) NOTE: Three term are used: Savior, Messiah and Lord. Possible definition and discussion. We have read about three angelic messengers so far: one to Zechariah, one to Mary and one (or more to the shepherds. In each the first words spoken by the angel(s) are “fear not”. Why? (Look up the description of various angel in the following: Isaiah 6:2; Ezekiel 1:5-11; Revelation 4:6b-8) What reaction would you think appropriate? Jesus is circumcised according to the law. Verse 2:22 mentions purification. Who is being purified? (Mary: See Lev 12:6,8) At the purification, who blessed and prophesied over Jesus? (Luke 2:25-35) What do you think was meant by the Simeon’s prophecy in verses 34-35? Who else testified about Jesus? (Luke 2:36-38) Jesus as a boy in the Temple. How do Mary’s definition of Father and Jesus’s definition differ? (Luke 2;48-50) What was Jesus’s age when this occurred? What further information is recorded for Jesus between this incident and the start of His ministry? A message about Hope. Hope that has its confidence in Him.
In reviewing items at both our CGMF and FBC websites, it has become apparent that the forums are inactive. We have had very few people sign up and get involved in the past few months. This being the case we have chosen to cancel the payments to Tal.ki and look afresh at this concept. I believe folks participation in Facebook, Google+, Twitter, etc.. has seen the forum become a once in awhile occasional thought. Maybe with better promotion we can have greater involvement in the future, but for now those pages are being deleted.
Thanks to those who did participate and were involved in its endeavor. We will see how the Lord might lead us in a future with such a concept as this. August 20th, 2017 With so many folks on vacation the past few weeks, it has been difficult to keep things organized. LOL. Nevertheless, here is the latest from the Ministry and Fellowship of CGMF. We have combined are Authentic Men and Authentic Women classes into one Neighborhood Group each. Now men and women meet together separately, but at the same location now in smaller groups. Our goal here is that families can stay together and there will be less disruption. We also will be starting in September our Thru The Bible series on Luke. What will be new is that we will have prep study beforehand available for each class. This way you get the most out of each class. Reverend Vossen has designated one of our bible teachers to prepare these prep reviews for us. Gathering meetings for August were exciting. We had them in two locations. One in Kearney and the other in Omaha. The worship was lively and the Holy Spirit ministered in a wonderful way in each. Seven folks repented and were baptized so far this month, and many filled with His Spirit as God moved in these meetings in a tremendous way. Next month Reverend Vossen will be preaching at the Omaha meeting, and Pastor Jim Harris from Kansas City in our Gathering in Grand Island. Please be in prayer for the ministry as are Shepherd Leaders gather next month to map out what God has on the agenda for the months to come. Also, changes in Reverend Vossen's involvement in the ministry will be discussed. Reverend Vossen and the Shepherd leaders appointed Skip, Mary and Jeff to handle most of the every day tasks a year or so ago. Yet, leadership senses a change in direction and we are wanting to see how best to proceed in the year to come. Grace and Peace to all. Enjoy the remainder of your summer.
